In this tutorial I share the code to display a full width featured image below the navigation in Genesis and relocate the entry title from its default position to below the featured image for static Pages.

A Page that doesn't have a featured image:
Step 1
Edit the Pages for which you wish to show the images and upload/select wide featured images. I've used an image that is 1600 x 200 in this example.
Step 2
Add the following in child theme's functions.php:

Thanks Sridhar! this is great.
Can you share the CSS if we wanted the Title (and any sub header) to appear centered over the featured image. Similar to Community Pro theme, and they way titles are displayed over featured images on individual pages.

Hi Sridhar. Thank you very much for writing this tutorial. Really easy to follow as always.
I have tried it and it works except for it shows the title bar on the home page. I tried removing this by adding some of the php that I had used to do the same thing last night but couldn’t get it to work added to yours. I will keep what I have for now because my client needs this site completed by tomorrow morning, but if you do have a minute to comment on how to exclude the title bar from the home page, that will be excellent and I’m sure I will use it for future sites.
Thanks again
Claire
To make this not affect front page, add the following instead.
functions.php: http://pastie.org/pastes/10255739/text
style.css: http://pastie.org/pastes/10255743/text
Thank you
