A few months ago Akismet, the de facto anti-spam plugin for WordPress showed a message that my blog has grown too big for it to do its job free of cost. I looked and tried several popular free Akismet alternatives and finally settled on Antispam Bee. I have been using it for a couple of months now and it does a nice job.
Here are my settings:
While there are still about 2 or 3 spam comments that slip through (i.e., not marked as spam automatically and kept in the comment queue) every day, overall it does a fine job.
Hi Sridhar,
Are you taking any other measures to reduce spam comments?
Thanks,
Beth
I started using iThemes Security since yesterday. I have this ticked:
Hi Sridhar,
Have you tried “Invisible Captcha”?
Seems to work for me.
Do you use just that?
I know that you are an expert in WordPress but we are facing same difficulties/issues but we are using Blogger. Can you suggest us some plugins those work with blogger engine. We do not want to use captcha. Though we are using hidden email field techniques for few of our clients (customized websites) which work good but we want some good solution for blogger. If you can refer something then that would be helpful.
