In Lifestyle Pro, site title and tagline will appear in the header with a solid background color like this:
What if you would like to use an image instead for the header?
Updated on December 22, 2015.
The earlier method is here just for reference. The new method below is recommended.
Step 1
Place your desired header image in Lifestyle Pro's images
directory. Ideal width is 1068px. Height is up to you. In this example, I am using an image that is 178px high named header.jpg.
Step 2
Add the following in Lifestyle Pro's functions.php:

I am trying to add a custom image to Lifestyle Pro as you explain, but my image that I built in XHeader does not have a URL or any identifying code that I can see.
So when you say to replace the image URL in Line 8 in the Functions editor of Lifestyle Pro, I have nothing to replace it with.
How can I get a URL for my image?
Thank You!

Will this wide header be responsive using this method?
Hi,
Is it also possible to add the genesis responsive slider in the header of Lifestyle pro?
Thanks!
Thanks for the great tutorials! Do you happen to know if there are any functional differences between Lifestyle Pro and Magazine Pro? Or are they the same underneath just with a different look? I am deciding between the two themes and am having a hard time picking one. I’m currently on blogger and moving to WP. Thanks
To answer a question here, no, this will not make the header responsive.
Actually it is responsive – I followed the tutorial exactly and this is what the header looks like on this site – http://bmpsychology.com.au
Thank you very much for this tutorial, i was able to do this within minutes.
Short and straight to the point.
[…] the past I showed how a wide header can be added in Lifestyle Pro and Agency Pro Genesis child […]
This is just what I was looking for. I really appreciate the great tutorial and love the ability to copy the code directly. Thanks!
Hi,
I’ve tried following these instructions and I’m not having any luck. There are no changes visible. Do the CSS or PHP changes need to be placed in a certain area of the file?
Thank you!
I followed the directions exactly as written, but what I get is the header.jpg inside the header above the site title and tagline. What am I missing?
