In this tutorial we shall set up background slideshow for front page hero section of Showcase Pro using Backstretch and Soliloquy.
Step 1
Install and activate Soliloquy (free lite or the premium one) plugin.
Create a slider named Home
and upload/select the desired background images. Since we are going to just use it as an easy way to manage the background images, settings in Config, Mobile and Misc tabs do not matter and need not be configured.
Step 2
Upload jquery.backstretch.min.js to js
directory.
Create a file named say, backstretch-set.js in the same location having the following code:

I applied the tutorial as described but getting error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /home/iohana/showcase/wp-content/themes/showcase-pro/functions.php on line 339

Is there a way to do this without the JS – That way I could use Soliloquy’s options? I’m having issues with it not displaying the entire image (cropping the slide), displaying the image name and not looking very nice on other devices.
