This worked great Sridhar. But, as I am running a 2 column site, I would like to make the text (content) section a little narrower – about 680 pixels wide, and keep the right sidebar the same width. Can I do this by changing the CSS above? Thanks
Sridhar, what would be the process to reduce the width of the right sidebar and increase the left side bar. I would like to have a sidebar-content-sidebar with equal size sidebars and a 600px content area.
i’m using the same “content-sidebar” layout on my blog like yours. i’ don’t think 300×250 banner ads have enough room to fit into primary sidebar. How to increase primary sidebar width and reduce container width?

Thanks Sridhar for such an useful tutorial, I was thinking it’s very difficult to change and adjust widths of content column and sidebar but with the help of this tutorial I changed it 🙂
Hi! I found your site because I recently switched to the Eleven40 pro theme. I am trying to figure out to make the left (secondary) sidebar disappear when the site is viewed on phones and tablets. Right now I am particularly unhappy with how my site looks on the ipad when viewed in landscape mode — the center column is just way too small.
Also, are your services up for hire? I’ve used a couple of your posts already to make some changes to my site, and they were so great. Should I email you? I have a few other requests including adding a search bar to the main nav — I followed your tutorial and it worked great but I couldn’t get the styling quite right — and basically this left sidebar thing, and if you are up for hire, I would love to know your rates.
