Great Tutorial, thanks! I have been using your instructions to create a menu overlay on my slider using the Dynamik Website Builder for Genesis. Still a few minor tweaks to make but otherwise functional.
I’m trying to overlay some text and a link on top of the slider that I just put in my Parallax Pro theme thanks to your tutorial. I want this area to be centered on top of my slider vertically and horizontally. When I use the code above, the area is positioned too far so that it is not visible. Can you help me fix it?
Well, I got it. I posted my question to soon. Thanks again for the great tutorials and tips!
Hi Sridhar
Really appreciate the work you put into these tutorials.
The overlay on responsive slider for the Minimum Pro just doesn’t work. If following you guidance, the new widgetarea will register in Appearance->Widgets but it is unable to display anything. I now tested it on several servers, all running the Minimum Pro theme and on which I would lovethe option of being able to have an opt in form in my main header/background inage.
Any ideas?
Regards
Hi Sridar,
How can I modify this to place a simple permanent text widget as overlay instead of the form? When I follow your tutorial here and add a text widget instead of the enews the text ends up below the slider.
The page I’m modifying is http://www.birchmoth.no. The slider is using the featured images from pages.
Thanks!
Sridar
I’ve successfully implemented the slider option but the widget will not appear for some reason. I’ve used both a text widget and the eNews widget but no luck.

Hello. The code is not working for me. Does it make a different how I have the sliders configured (e.g. as pages, posts)? I’m running the minimum pro theme and I copied all of your code exact and the widget appears; however, when I add Enews or text it doesn’t appear. Please advise.
Should not.
Can you provide the URL of your site?
Hi. I have to keep the site restricted to my ip address while I built it. If you’d like to give me your ip I can allow you access. I don’t necessarily want the Enew widget. I just want to add text and a button in a slider overlay on the minimum pro theme’s home page. I followed your tutorial on adding the home slider and it worked fine…However, I’m having issues with the overlay. I’m sure there are many way to achieve this. I’d greatly appreciate your advice on getting it done. Thank you.
Regarding some of my earlier questions, I figured out how to change the 4 home featured widgets to three and how to remove the tagline from home page, so you can disregard those questions.
The overlay tutorial is not working for me. Can you please explain how to achieve an responsive slider overlay with a text widget instead of Enews?
This doesn’t work! Please address it and correct it.
