In Showcase Pro, site header is transparent by default on desktops and shrinks in height with a solid white background upon scrolling.
In this tutorial, I share the steps to customize Showcase Pro to
1) make the fixed (800px and above) site header shorter with a solid white background color (both on initial page load and upon scrolling down)
2) set up an image at left and text at right in the Front Page 1 widget area
Tested in Showcase Pro version 2.0.2.
Step 1
Let's remove the Javascript that adds header-scroll
class to body element upon scrolling down.

Does this tutorial register the new widget in functions?
No.
In Step 4, the widget is to be dragged into Front Page 1 widget area.
I just want the white menu bar across the top but only doing step 1 didn’t get me there. What other step do I need for just this piece?
Disregard – solved with css
I do have one more question. I copied the CSS exactly and everything works perfectly except the logo only appears when I start to scroll. How can I make sure the logo appears with or without scroll?
