I'd like to use Genesis Featured Posts plugin (or other similar) to show a post category rather than the expect Genesis Portfolio Pro plugin for the Front Page 5. I'm trying to get it to look and function the same with no edges and a roll over title. Thanks!
This members-only tutorial provides the steps to customize the CSS for showing the output of a Genesis Featured Posts widget in Front Page 5 widget area of Corporate Pro to look like the portfolio entries in that section if a Genesis Portfolio widget were in it.
From 1366px and below (iPad Pro landscape), we shall make the posts have the dark overlay along with the title unlike how the responsive behaviour is in the theme out of the box since tablets and mobiles don't have hover action.
Tested in Corporate Pro 1.1.1.
Step 1
If you have not already, go to Appearance > Widgets and move to inactive widgets area/delete the Genesis - Portfolio widget (if present) inside Front Page 5 widget area.
Drag a Genesis - Featured Posts widget into it and configure it.
Step 2
Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and add the following CSS:
