WordPress is not yet a mainstream household name here in India. But young innovators are already seeing its tremendous potential especially in the area of commercial plugins. However, there is still a lot of scope for WordPress to grow in India. Does anyone know or remember when the last WordCamp happened here?
I’ve always wanted to start a list of active Indian-based WordPress designers, developers, bloggers (writing about WordPress), companies and entrepreneurs.
So here it is with entries in no particular order:
InfiniteWP
InfiniteWP is a very popular freemium plugin for managing multiple WordPress websites. Competes with ManageWP.

I believe this is the largest WordPress based business, revenue-wise coming from India.
Templatic
Templatic is a commercial WordPress themes provider that sells WordPress themes in several verticals. Founded by R. Bhavesh.
Headquarters: Surat, India.
blogVault
blogVault is a backup, migrate, restore freemium service by Inactiv.com Media Solutions Pvt Ltd. Competes with VaultPress from Automattic and BackupBuddy from iThemes.
Headquarters: Bangalore, India.
Inactiv was founded by Akshat Choudhary in 2007.
